Abandoned.
http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/2009/12/abandoned.php/

If I feel abandoned, it's not by Obama and the Democratic party, it's by those on the left advocating to kill the bill.

I am unemployed and have a pre-existing condition that requires daily medicines, quarterly doctors visits and an annual test. I am on COBRA, which runs out mid-2010, when I will have to find new health insurance. I will need to purchase some kind of health insurance, assuming I can find provider who will insure me

3. Since nothing kicks in until 2013, she's going to be in the same predicament in 2010 anyway.
What they should do right now is expand Medicaid to unemployed or low income people. The income limits for single people are ridiculously low.

6. Well, if the proposed bill passes I will be hosed.
Too bad the dems didn't show some spine and pursue some other strategies for real reform.
I am sorry for your condition, but I believe the problem is not with those who are not willing to accept a bad bill, it is with those who allowed themselves to be maneuvered into this corner where they have but one option left.
And don't forget the Ben Nelsons and Mary Landreaus of the world. I would hardly call them left.

45. If I want the same coverage next year
...that I have now, I have to pay $5k more per year, starting in April. That is almost a 40% jump in one year. Our insurance is already a hollowed out husk from what it was in the 90s.

If we cant afford to pay $5k more a year for what we are already paying $1200 a month for now, we have to go with a 'health savings plan.' This, 'plan,' has a $5k yearly deductible that has to be paid before any insurance kicks in. Either way we are screwed. If I break my arm or whatever I will end up flying down to Costa Rica to have it fixed. I can go round trip for $600 and have the arm fixed for $150. Otherwise it costs me $5K. Everything about it is fucked.

The bill does nothing to stop price gouging.

I mean, really - this bill doesn't kick in soon enough to help this person's situation anyway.

I'm not sure they care about anyone. I think Chris Matthews was right tonight when he said there a groups that just likes to complain. They don't really want anything. They just love to complain. If it wasn't this, it'd something else. It's true that they've done nothing but bitch since Obama was elected -- one thing after another.

You know it's bad when the "full rate" Cobra coverage beats by 30% the company subsidized rate at a small company. I'm glad that so many are happy to tell me to "shut up, you have a lot of nerve supporting this bill".

33. Excuse me. You don't need insurance. You need CARE if you get sick
Insurance is a useless product if the insurers won't pay for care. And they won't--you are not only forced to pay premiums, but also to pay your ongoing health caare expenses. You'll sitll die or go bankrupt--you just get to be poor while you're wating for that.

37. And as long as the insurance companies
are involved teams of 'experts' will make decisions in a little room at corporate HQ about what type of care the insured is entitled to receive. Denied due to being Medically Unnecessary will become even more rampant.
