1. That chart showing the Bush tax cuts as % of debt is pretty striking isn't it?
I wonder if Franken would consider a filibuster against a compromise that doesn't address the nation's revenue.

2. I'm praying that Al Franken will be the one to filibuster. There's got to be a brave Democrat
in the Senate now that we lost Russ.

4. I don't come here to spam...
but maybe you'd be interested in reading the latest post on my blog (the link's in my signature). It's a speech I think Al Franken should give to Minnesotans about the government shutdown.

5. I'll read it. By the way, why is it that the Corporate Media isn't telling the entire story
about how Pawlenty ran up the debt? Now, he's running campaign ads about how he's fiscally conservative and will create jobs!

What?!?!? He destroyed Minnesota's economy!!!!

7. I think it's just laziness
Maybe each cable news channel decides to spend a minute talking about Minnesota. It's so much easier to make a big deal comparing the similarities of the state's shutdown to what's going on with the Federal debt ceiling debates than it is to actually discuss the background of the debt. And who knows if the other Republican candidates will bring it up- Tim Pawlenty isn't the frontrunner, and what would they gain from all of a sudden making the facts an issue?

3. That would be great - wonder if he would. And yeah, I've
often said Obama needs to stand up there with a chart people can SEE, present it like Rachel always does. Makes more of an impression than figures and phrases that are thrown around.
