Social security and Medicare is really about the percentage our kids get to keep and spend
Vs how much they will have to pay both in debt we created and grew and how much to support us with a particular lifestyle.

If we can say we built the tools they needed to cope with the increased number of elderly they have to take care of then I guess we can justify asking them for a larger percentage of their income. If we spent it on frivolity and cut the means by which we expect them to provide for us then really, we have a lot of chutzpah.

3. Unless they have changed the dates I believe they are cutting mine!
People out here are paying 12% plus on gross income to support the system. If we insist on raiding it then those of us who are going to get cut should really think about paying at all!

2. and here I thought that by paying in all that extra that Reagan
and Tip O'Neil worked out the money would be there.
Looks like we saved a lot of money and now the it is being stolen to go to the billionaires.

8. Bill Gates & Warren Buffet parents were middle class?
As far as I know. And both individuals are richer than God.

9. No and Yes. Now, what about the other 99% of billionaires?

Bill Gates Sr may not have been a billionaire, but he was rather wealthy. And Jr used his father's contacts to become a billionaire.

Dunno about Soros's parents.

I recall reading that majority of millionaires are self made. Overwhelming majority of people with net worth's over million+ have made it in real estate.

However your point is also valid that being born rich certainly helps. Examples: Trump, Kennedy's.

Another interesting tidbit on this topic is that currently
2 countries are making more new millionaires than the rest of the world combined....China+India! And 2 out the 5 richest people on earth are from India, the richest is from Mexico.

6. Exactly.
It was a regressive tax meant to counteract the progressive income tax code.

What a joke on us.
