Pelosi (fresh from the WH negotiations!) will be making a statement
(or a full presser, don't know which) shortly. I think earlier I heard she'd be joined by Hoyer. Anyway, stand by.

3. Watching MSNBC now and Thomas (the host) told a guest
that they might be breaking for Pelosi. That was a couple of guests ago so I'm thinking "soon"? :7

If my butt is still here in front of the TV I'll try to post a summary for those who aren't able to watch and for our deaf DUers.

Still here, huh? :hi:

7. So far so good!
Edited on Thu Jul-07-11 01:54 PM by David Gill
I had a brief run in with a spammer calling people morans (sic) which has since been deleted, and I've been called an "ageist" for suggesting a lot of support for kneecapping Medicaid comes from people collecting SS and Medicare. But I think I'm going to be alright :)

Now, whether I'll be able to survive watching cable news waiting for Nancy Pelosi is a different question. Lip synchers on Youtube and the last Harry Potter movie

8. I'm sure a video will be posted here after she speaks, so
you ultimately wouldn't miss anything. And, of course, debate on what she "really" was saying.

DU is amazing in that you learn the news here faster/before anywhere else. It's always my go-to source to find out what's going on about ANYTHING.

And I just always choose "latest" rather than go to GD or GDP, for example, because ALL the posts show up there (helpful hint).

15. Thanks
I missed it too... actually, I saw it when I got on the computer after turning of MSNBC, so maybe they didn't cut away for it while it was live.

9. Pelosi: "we do not support cuts in benefits to Social Security or Medicare."
"If there's a table that social security is on, it's on it's own table..."

10. Is the "we" she's referencing include House Dems AND President Obama
Edited on Thu Jul-07-11 02:35 PM by Proud Liberal Dem
or just House Dems (not that I personally believe that I believe that Obama supports SS benefit cuts)?

13. Wait a minute!
I just read on DU that Obama refused to speak with Dems on this issue!

I knew it was a pantload. Can't believe they leave that shit stand 'round here these days.

18. I'm in Obama's corner but I think he should have met with
them when they asked him to yesterday. I'd feel snubbed, too -- wouldn't you? He NEEDS their support, if nothing else.

21. But these are the people he's asking to support him. It would
have been a good move, IMO.

We sure have all the answers, don't we? :7. All their problems would be solved if they just listened to us! (Seriously, that's how I feel sometimes!)

17. The Caucus invited him to meet with them all yesterday, and
he declined. That's what people are referring to -- not today's meeting.
