3. Nothing about benefits.
I have seen NOTHING so far that suggests cuts to Social Security benefits are on the table. Nothing.

I'll be with you when word comes out that benefits are on the table. Nothing so far, though. It's all about ending waste, red tape, and fraud right now.

8. I love Feingold. I think he'd make an excellent candidate in 2016.
But, giving Obama a primary challenge would do absolutely nothing productive. It would leave the party in shambles and leave people like Bachmann a huge opportunity to make it to the Oval Office. And good luck with a third party challenge.

Obama's been far from perfect, but he's a hell of a lot better than any other possible alternative. He's pragmatic, and there are very few pragmatists anymore in Washington, and apparently on DU.

SS benefit cuts are NOT on the table. I have seen NOTHING to suggest otherwise. Absolutely nothing. Reforms to help end waste, fraud, and cut red tape are definitely on the table, but cuts to benefits are not.

16. Same old, jump on the old predictable bandwagon from this poster
...please list the major cuts and just what those cuts are? I can't find them in your article.

Something of some substance with a modicum of truth, would be so freaking nice for a change instead of the overly dramatic, dishonest headings you tend to use.

from the articles in your link:

Obama says: After reports about possible cuts to Social Security emerged Thursday, White House spokesman Jay Carney noted that Mr. Obama has previously acknowledged the financial health of the program needs to be strengthened "in a balanced way that preserves the promise of the program and doesn't slash benefits."

Pelosi says: House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi on Thursday expressed her opposition to including Social Security as part of the talks to raise the debt ceiling.

"We do not support cuts in benefits for Social Security and Medicare. Any discussion of Medicare or Social Security should be on its own table. I've said that before, do you want to take a look at Social Security. Then look at it on its own table,"

Walker (comptroller) says: David Walker, the former U.S. comptroller general, told CBS News in an interview that Social Security is not the largest problem facing the U.S. and is unlikely to be a driver of any grand bargain on budget savings.

18. NO and NO!
Read the articles:

Bill Plante assumed this: "The administration would only agree to cuts to Social Security benefits in exchange for reducing some eliminating some tax breaks that benefit the wealthy and certain industries, including oil and gas firms."

BUT ----

there is this: "After reports about possible cuts to Social Security emerged Thursday, White House spokesman Jay Carney noted that Mr. Obama has previously acknowledged the financial health of the program needs to be strengthened "in a balanced way that preserves the promise of the program and doesn't slash benefits."

DOESN'T SLASH BENEFITS

And this from the NYT article: "knowledgeable officials said" and nowhere does it say that any cuts to benefits are included

The president’s renewed efforts follow what knowledgeable officials said was an overture from Mr. Boehner, who met secretly with Mr. Obama last weekend, to consider as much as $1 trillion in unspecified new revenues as part of an overhaul of tax laws in exchange for an agreement that made substantial spending cuts, including in such social programs as Medicare and Medicaid and Social Security — programs that had been off the table.
