Would you support the impeachment of a Republican president solely for cutting Social Security? |
|
That is the question. If yes, why? If no, why not and what other actions would you wish to take if any at all?

1. Sorry, President Obama will not hand you grounds to support his impeachment. |
|
Just guessing that's the reason you're asking.

2. Yes. It's not their money |
|
it's ours. As far as I am concerned it's theft. In fact I would support the impeachment of ANY President for ANY cutting of Social Security.

3. I would support it for ANY president -- although actual grounds would be lacking. |
|
I would certainly work AGAINST such a president's reelection.

6. I guess I'm missing the larger point you are making |
|
Because the premise is nonsensical.
A president could only cut social security by signing a bill passed by both houses of congress. A majority of representatives are going to vote to impeach the president solely for signing a bill that they themselves voted to pass?
Are you assuming a subsequent House would impeach a president for a bill he/she signed that was passed in a previous House session? I guess that's not much stupider than impeaching over lying about a blow job, but it's still be pretty damn stupid.
If there was some way that a president cut social security though some sort of military coup? I can't figure how that would happen, but in that case I'd support more than impeachment.

7. No, because changing policy is not grounds for impeachment |
|
as long as it's done legally.
It would make me work harder to replace the Republican President in the next election cycle, however.

First of all, I doubt that it would be an impeachable offense to begin with. You're talking about a R president, so asking if he/she has done anything positive would be a silly question, but basing an entire presidency on one point (no matter how distasteful) is nuts. Again, you did say "Republican" so I'm assuming he/she isn't cutting SS because they were concerned about keeping it safe for future generations or for any other reason than, "Socialism bad!!!".
What actions would I take? I'd continue to vote for Democrats and donate money to Democratic candidates.

9. I'll support ANY grounds for impeaching a GOP president... |
|
Because I know down to my toes that almost all Republicans would support ANY grounds for impeaching any Democratic president. We can no longer talk to, or compromise with, or trust the word of Republicans, so we can no longer afford to be fair-minded in dealing with them. Stomp them out!

It's true the President would have to sign it.

12. It's a little hard for me to envision the Congress which passed the legislation impeaching |

the President for signing it.
