So was part of this Obama "deal" to avoid a recess session to appoint Elizabeth Warren?
Obama was able to do a lot of huffing and puffing about staying around to work out a deal and have the Senate stay in session this last week over the holidays. I'm sure the Republicans didn't like that or how Obama was making himself sound like the "leader" in cutting a deal. But perhaps they liked the deal and also liked the idea of Obama not using recess to appoint Elizabeth Warren, and Obama liked the opportunity of not appointing her to avoid scrutiny for not doing so by all of us here...

Thoughts? Or am I missing some coming recess where this might happen soon?

1. You mean the appointment she's on record as saying she DOES NOT WANT?
That appointment?

2. Wouldn't he be the one to make the recess appointment?
The one that he's keeping the senate in session to avoid? Is this thing on?

3. The senate would NOT have gone into recess either way - because of GOP obstruction.
The time before when the senate was supposed to have gone into recess the GOP blocked adjournment and the senate had to go into 'pro-forma session' - The GOP blocked adjournment so that Obama could not make any recess appointments.

The GOP would have done the same thing this time regarding the 4th of July recess.

If you want to blame someone blame the GOP.

5. I love how drama erupts conspiracy theories and intellectualism is lost in the fray.
Seriously? This was a set up to dump Elizabeth Warren? Read post # 1 & 3.
