Using an analogy from Barnicle this morning...
on Morning Joe - when sneakers that normally sell for $29 go on sale for $19, no one calls it a price hike when the sale ends and the price goes back to $29. As another poster said, it's a lie that letting tax cuts expire is a tax increase. If we apply a similar analogy to the Social Security "cuts" analyzed in the DailyKos article here,

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2011/07/07/992060/-A-Non-Hysterical-Progressive-Analysis-of-so-called-Social-Security-Cuts-on-the-Table

and the anticipated monthly increase of $34-$35 is reduced by fourteen cents, it's NOT a cut in Social Security. It's a teeny-tiny reduction in the increase. And I believe they'll be raising the cap, too. If the Kos article is correct, I consider this excellent news. But maybe I'm wrong, or Hamden Rice is wrong.
