There was an article in today's Fort Worth paper, written by the Associated Press. The headlines called House Republicans "Flexible" because they were willing to negotiate on the budget.
Fox News is also using the "F word", as in "A top House Republican Wednesday also signaled new flexibility on White House demands".

At the Washington Post, Charles Krauthammer uses a different F-word, as he gloats about Obama's "flip-flop" on the front page.
Meanwhile, there is (more than one) article in the progressive news media, complaining that Democrats (and one Democrat in particular) "cave".
When you see the same rhetoric being used simultaneously by multiple news sites, chances are you are witnessing propaganda. You know, like John Edwards, the "slick phony" and Bush Lite's "compassionate conservatism"----whatever the hell that was supposed to be. I guess the missile strikes that took out whole families in foreign countries were launched with "compassion."
In November, 2008, the day after the election, the right wing began keeping a list of Obama's "broken promises." Keep in mind that he had not been sworn in yet. They started calling it "Obama's recession" before he was elected. If he stands up to his political opponents, he is a "dick." They were really happy to get a chance to use this one, because they have been trying all along to portray him as an "angry Black male" with a "threatening sexuality." But since he is typically cool as a cucumber, most of the time they have to settle for calling him "weak", a "flip-flopper", "spineless", someone who "caves."
When the smoke clears and Congress comes up with its final budget, we will probably be in for some nasty surprises. But one thing we know in advance. The press will applaud the Republicans for being "flexible", for "negotiating". And the same press will mock Democrats for "breaking their promises", for being "weak", for "caving".
