1. Gov jobs lost in NC were the result of a decrease in sales tax.
The republican legistlature decided the tax break was more important than government jobs.

3. Even with all the hurt states and local governments are under, they still give
commercial property tax breaks, credits and/or corporate income tax breaks which reduces revenue from those sources. It would be "nice" if all this lost revenue was made up by those businesses actually boosting employment which in turn would generate tax revenues.

But too many times - after infrastructure (water, sewer, roads, buildings) is built - at the expense of taxpayers, those companies move out leaving vast empty parking lots and buildings, moving to another state with their hands out ready to milk another set of taxpayers.

The federal stimulus money is gone and it's a given there won't be any more "hand-outs" coming from this congress. Watch states and local governments slash funds for education, social services, parks, recreation, and on and on.

Will homelessness, helplessness and hopelessness be on the rise?
