After Two Days Of Trying I Finally Was Able To Get Through To The White House......
It seems like a lot of people are calling the White House and logging in their opinion on this debt ceiling and the negotiations. I was finally able to get through after calling continuously for 2 days. If you don't want Obama and the Dems to give away the farm I urge you all to call and get your two cents in this discussion. The number is 1-202-456-1111. It's a better way to get to them then snail mail and e-mail and you feel real good about yourself for doing so.

Don't mess with SS, Medicare or Medicaid. Raise revenue by taxing the wealthy in this country that have had all the breaks for the last 10 or so years. Let them pay their fair share. Right now we're hearing "Shared Sacrifice" as the talking points. Well make sure that the sharing is not just one sided. Voice your opinion today.

White House Comment Line Number: 1-202-456-1111

4. I believe that's a voice mail box. You don't get a response.
I'm not as patient as our op. I tried about 10 times & gave up and sent an email. I'll try a few more times to call, but I just dont have the patience to try for DAYS!

8. The Only Voice Mail Box I Got Was When I Called The Repug Senator In My State........
I had to leave a message. I called my Congressman and talked with a live person as well as Senator Durbin's office and talk live with one of his office staff. Office staff in Washington is very cordial and they know that this is their job to listen to constituents. Both my Congressman's and Durbin's office said the calls were all going the same way. They've been busy for the last couple of days just fielding calls from constituents wanting the Dems to hold firm and not give away the farm.

5. One Is Put On Hold To Wait For An Available Operator .......
this is not a voice mail box - they have live operators that are very pleasant and willing to listen to and log in your comments. The lady I spoke to was very cordial and when I asked how the comments were going - she indicated that they were almost all going the way my comment went.

3. I was able to get through over the past few days about 3 times,
but maybe it's heated up -- I hope so!

I also keep calling my Representative (DC and local offices) to assure him he's got our support to stand firm against any cuts, including sneaky "adjustments". I've been e-mailing him, too.

In the e-mails my subject line is NO Cuts on SS/Medicare/Medicaid including "adjustments" --

That way they can tally the yeas/nays and don't have to plow through the reasons (which they don't care about anyway, IMO)

9. How about: "Don't Steal My Social Security..It's MINE...I PAID FOR IT"
Out and out fucking theft. They already are raising the age eligibility, penalizing you if you work, hoping you DIE before you get your first check.
How can people be so stupid to vote in these lying, thieving ReThugs that will take their SS and Medicare and put them in the poor house?
(course..I DO work with two men at a Union Job who are ONE-ISSUE. That one issue is abortion. It trumps all.):banghead:

10. I got through about 4 times on Thursday, but couldn't get
through today. Same experience as above: nice people (all volunteers) all indicated lots of people felt the way I did. It's worth doing, but they don't answer after 5 or on weekends.
