Obama needs to be prepared to really, really stand firm -- I hope he is

This is the same thing I posted before with out the "offensive" phrase. Let's see what happens.

Look, I don't know what to think about the so-called 14th Amendment option re: the debt ceiling. But... I think it's worth trying it and letting the Supreme Court decide.

I know the current Supreme Court is partisan. At least three of the justices no longer care at all about the merits of any case. They decide cases based on partisan interests. None of that should matter when the country is facing an existential crisis. Obama cannot just stand by and let the world economy be destroyed by the radical/anti-American contingent in the Congress -- even if he loses his presidency.

In fact, even if the 14th Amendment option is deemed to be clearly illegal, I think Obama should act because the consequences for national security would be dire. Congress has gone rogue. Obama might have to do the same.

If it comes down to it, the military could very well end up being the real tie-breaker here. If that's what it comes to, then that's what it comes to. I honestly think we are very close to the country's biggest crisis since the Civil War unless the GOP backs down. I hope Obama is prepared for that.

1. The debt provision in the 14th Amendment does not give Potus
any extra or specific powers - it may, however, make any "debt ceiling" if not unconstitutional, at least irrelevant.

2. Obama should call their bluff
Impeachment would be better than watching the world economy go down the tubes.

4. Putting precious things on the table that the other side didn't even ask for is...
...about as far from "standing firm" as one can get.
