Boehner: Defiant on taxs
By: CNN Wire Staff

(CNN) - Speaker John Boehner insisted Monday that the House will not pass any debt ceiling deal that includes tax hikes. He also said the House won't pass a deal that fails to include spending cuts larger than any debt ceiling increase while also constraining future spending.

The speaker said he still has a disagreement with the White House on taxes and the "extent of the entitlement problem, and what is necessary to solve it."

Boehner acknowledged the need for political sacrifice on both sides of the aisle. But he insisted that a potential increase in tax rates was "never on the table" in negotiations.

"It takes two to tango, and they're not there yet," Boehner said in reference to the White House.

1. Last week Boehner
was starting to sound rational. The rest of the party cannot allow that.

2. Wait what?
"Boehner acknowledged the need for political sacrifice on both sides of the aisle. But he insisted that a potential increase in tax rates was "never on the table" in negotiations."

So what sacrifices are the Republicans making?

5. Unbelievable.
"Cantor said House Republicans had already made their compromises by being willing to vote for a debt ceiling increase in the first place." http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0711/58699.html#ixzz1Rp1x1200

Ohhhh... I hate these fuckers.

6. The saying, "A captain always go down with his ship" comes to mind.

I can almost see independents' opinion of Republicans sinking as Captain Orange mouths teabagger-friendly platitudes.

7. He is in control with the debt ceiling threat, and will not hesitate to call a vote to kill an
increase in it.
