So those who don't like my current mood, please don't call me a PUMA or say I never was a fan of the prez.

Allow me to brag about this bit of prescience

I think he's shot himself and the party in the foot by all of this appeasement, and I have thought since the beginning that appeasement would be fatal.

1. Interesting. PBO wasn't even sworn in yet and he was
already the enemy. Sad, because he has done so much good.

3. Yup. Sworn enemy
Excerpt:

And then there's Obama. He has a CHANCE to make a tidal change in this country. A chance to be so popular here and abroad that the cancer that is the current GOP can be destroyed before it destroys the country. Is it guaranteed? Of course not. Is it a better chance than Clinton? about a million to none. I don't understand how the Clinton supporters can not catch on to the fact that an Obama candidacy will bring 5-10 MILLION MORE YOUNG VOTERS TO THE POLLS, TO VOTE DEMOCRATIC. My daughter's friends are 20something, mostly hard-core Catholic who lean GOP due to the abortion issue but are extremely disillusioned with Smirk by Katrina, his elitist economic policies and the astounding corruption. They love Obama, and are willing to overlook his pro-choice stance because they would much rather he than McShame be president while they become adults. If they don't come to the polls in November, the election will be decided by people who get their news From Limpballs and O'Really. Do you think Hillary can win such a contest? Obama also is far more likely to garner crossovers that HRC. Period. Nothing bad can come of this. People like Rendell talk of how "A lot of people aren't yet ready to vote for a black man for president". So what? Those people are hard-core wingers who aren't going to vote for Clinton either. And they're more than offset by the far lefties who would be swayed TOWARD Obama primarily because of his race. The hordes of young people who are flocking to him may even be enough to neutralize hate radio and cabal news. They'll of course do what they do, of course, but the generation who have been worshiping them during their adult lives will have been overwhelmed by an inspired mass of young people.

:wtf:

I guess I have to proffer grudging respect to Duers like you. You're kind of like teabaggers in your own way - you believe what you believe and no amount of facts will change those beliefs.

4. I guess you can keep your so called grudging respect
and never refer to me as like a teabagger again. Your second link was the teller, not the one you refer to here.

I'm a whole picture voter. Cherry pickin is for amateurs.

If Obama tries to triangulate like WJC did, he will be trounced by the media, the GOP congresspeople, and his 2012 opponent. If he gets evangelicals to come around to his way of thinking, and not vice-versa, this could be one of the great presidencies of all time.

Where in here to I declare him "the enemy"? At the time I wasn't expecting him to adopt Boner's agenda. I frankly thought we was too moral AND too politically astute. Those who knew he would drop the public option, refuse to prosecute the banksters, leave gay rights to the states, increase the war budget, prosecute pot smokers while election thieves go ignored, continue torture, join the onslaught against unions, and volunteer to cut Medicare & SS, were more observant than I was. I just said "if" he adopts the Repuke's agenda, he will get clobbered.

6. Second great DUer quote...
"I'm a whole picture voter. Cherry pickin is for amateurs."

Love that. Stealing it unless you can copyright it in the next 2 minutes. ;-)
