Voter Theft/Voter Suppression---Wisconsin laid the ground work for a dangerous game. |
|
I'm not hearing much talk on this. I'm not even hearing a political backlash as to what went on in Wisconsin during the recall votes. But to me this is the most unethical practice I have ever seen and it goes to show how far Republicans will go to remain in power. They are willing to lie unabashedly to their electorate, which we knew---but also abuse whatever trust they garner. For the some of the elderly voters----many of them must have felt horribly violated by this. I say that because I know memory isn't always the strong point of people of a "certain age"---my mother at 65 has been having a few problems with it.
I'm a bit appalled there isn't more of an uproar.
People complain about Obama. When we really should be focusing our energy on the local at this point. Even in recalls they will go to great lengths to destroy people. I don't know whatever one is doing locally but I think we on DU have to start organizing in public places to get the information out there. Being on the net is one thing....yelling and arguing amongst our selves is one thing...but it's not very productive. I know my area is on top of that---being in the Harlem district I was taught about voter suppression where I was when I volunteered. And this was during the Bush reelection and the Obama election time. Those ladies are rabid dogs about voter suppression and can sniff out a dirty dealer----their ability was scary.
But it seems in other places, they might not be as lucky. I think people need to get informed. Although people do talk about voter suppression---normally it's with electronic machines. Now it seems people can put fake Democrats on a list so that by default the Republican gains the seat. This really needs to get more national news than two reports on Ed and Rachel last night.

1. Republicans(politicians and some voters) do not respect Democracy itself |
|
in fact, they loathe the concept of every citizen having the right to choose who their reps will be.

It doesn't seem that this is getting much coverage, yet you'd think these 6 lying republicans (let's stop calling them fake democrats) would be charged with voter fraud of some sort.
No outrage at all in the msm!
Bravo to the Wisconsin electorate, btw, for being so involved and aware!
Edited to add: This is on the FRONT page of DU. I don't want to ignore that. At least many here are staying informed.

4. The Kenosha News made sure |
|
everyone that at least gets a paper knew about it. The addressed it in at least 2 opinion pieces by the editor and it was headlines today that they all lost.

7. That's what I'm talking about. Thanks for such a great post! |

We need to get people on top of that. I'm glad the local news media informed people. That's all I'm asking.
