McCaskill: Republicans look like ‘hot, sloppy mess’
By Alicia M. Cohn - 07/14/11 07:57 AM ET

Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) slammed Republicans, claiming their internal divisions were impeding the ongoing debt-ceiling negotiations.

“I don’t know what Boehner (R-Ohio) has going on in his caucus,” she said on MSNBC's Morning Joe on Thursday. “It looks like a hot, sloppy mess.”

McCaskill also referred to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s (R-Ky.) proposed plan to craft a fall-back position if Republicans and Democrats cannot reach a compromise on raising the debt ceiling.

"I think Mitch McConnell, frankly, has lost his mind,” she said.

7. Kentucky fried dipshit, that's what's up there.
But I almost felt sorry for the guy the other day, as he came out shaking, drenched in sweat, and swallowing like a man whose just been marched out to face a firing squad.

Caught between a rock and a hard place. Having his corporate owners tell him to raise the debt limit or they'll cut off his allowance on the one hand, and three million armed, psychotic Polyester Patriots telling him not to raise it or they'll cut off his gibblets on the other...he carefully obfuscated a byzantine plan to let Obama raise the debt limit with no strings attached, while using parliamentary language that he hoped would go right over the teabaggers' three-pointed heads. Then quickly ran off to do damage control on AM radio, and on the Senate floor by asking for a balanced budget amandment.

What he never gambled on was that Obama DOESN'T WANT to make a no-strings-attached deal! He WANTS to cut social security, and blame it on the Republicans. Talk about irony.

2. Oh now that is worth giving her props for...
I am no fan of McCaskill, but more of this sort of talk and I might become one. She is often very blunt, usually toward her own. More direct talk about the GOP is a good thing.
Of course, she and her hubby are in the Nursing Home Industry, so this issue strikes close to home for her.

Claire has never been a word mincer!

Sucks for us that she's right, though.

12. No offense, Claire, but that's really not a series of adjectives
I'd use to describe Republicans.
