Keep it classy FDL, Jane Hamsher calls Obama supporters "dumbest motherfuckers in the world"
Edited on Thu Jul-14-11 02:03 PM by wndycty
The firebagger crowd is so frickin shameless:

Hey, it’s better than Joan Walsh’s favorite term: Obamalovers

Keep your eye on Firedoglake, people. That ship is sinking fast. Jane Hamsher is suffering stage 5 Obama Derangement Syndrome. It’s so bad that she is now ignoring what Democratic aides have reported regarding Obama’s meeting with Cantor, and is sucking the milk from Cantor’s teat:
-snip-

"You gotta feel sorry for the guy. His most ardent supporters are the dumbest motherfuckers in the world, and they don’t realize he thinks they are digging his political grave."

At this point, Jane Hamsher is a parody of herself. She spews whatever brain jizz happens to be coagulating in her mind directly into the faces of her sycophants, and they lap that shit up like their only dream in life is to play the role of Hamsher PermaFluffer. I mean, it’s downright comical.

Obama raises 86 million bucks much to the chagrin of firebaggers everywhere and he’s got rock solid support from his base, and Hamsher obviously cannot stand it. (For fuck’s sake, how will she ever help Ron Paul get elected with the Obama Juggernaut running roughshod over everything in its path?)

In short, Obama is driving Hamsher fucking nuts, and it’s really fun to watch.
-snip-

4. A completely fallacious comment which demonstrates a lack of critical thinking skills.
The comment could be viewed as hypocritical, since it demonstrates Hamsher's own intellectual weakness. Though one fallacious comment does not make someone the "the dumbest motherfucker in the world."

Hamsher may have other fallacious comments; this is just the only one I am currently aware of.

5. Misleading thread headline
Edited on Thu Jul-14-11 02:09 PM by Theo Haffey
She used the label for President Obama's "most ardent supporters."

Not all Obama supporters are "his most ardent" supporters. It's like saying that all Americans are the tallest Americans.

Is she talking about a very small number of supporters? The OP doesn't does not seem to care.

Is not close to being his "supporters." I repeat, not even close. Nitpicking would occur if both groups were similar.

12. Misleading headline?
Hamsher has lost her mind. Speaking of "dumbest motherfuckers in the world," Hamsher conflates the claim that McConnell blinked with supporting McConnell's deal.

<...>

The irony is that the Obamabots are so out of touch with who Obama is and what he wants they don’t realize that by cheering for the McConnell deal, and his prowess in making McConnell “blink,” it amounts to twisting the knife for him. It makes it impossible for him to reject the deal the end — which empowers the GOP to hold out.

<...>

Not only is she wrong in her characterization of what the President's "most ardent supporters" are cheering, but also the word "ardent" is a throwaway since most Democrats have been cheering the fact that McConnell blinked.

The President has made no indication that he is willing to punt on this. In fact, the only thing about McConnell's deal that's worth considering is the fact that he finally admitted the debt ceiling should be raised.

To quote Pelosi:

“What Leader McConnell has put on the table recognizes that we must pass” a debt increase, Pelosi said. “So it has that merit in that it says what are we talking about here: We have to pass this. And let’s talk about the others things that are going on.”

Hamsher is simply making up shit to attack the President and anyone who supports him.

Still, you seem to agree with her characterization if it refers only to "most ardent supporters."

Poor thing seems to have an advanced case of Obama Derangement Syndrome. Hopefully it worsens.

Her being a woman doesn't excuse her from being criticized. In fact, assuming that a woman is too fragile to handle fair, non-sexist criticism is actually quite sexist in and of itself.

Edited on Thu Jul-14-11 04:17 PM by ClarkUSA
PUMA Jane Hamsher is no liberal; she and the rest of FDL were huge DLC Royal Hillary cheerleaders in 2008. Like so many other PUMAs, she never got over Barack Obama beating Hillary and winning it all. PUMA Jane Hamsher's whole grandstanding media whoring schtick is so stupidly transparent: attacking President Obama from the left when she's just a sore loser obsessive who is ugly inside and out. She has the same sensibilities of teabaggers, whom she courted to join her in defeating HCR, along with Grover Norquist. How anyone can see her as a liberal isn't paying attention to her actions during the past three years.

Edited on Thu Jul-14-11 05:02 PM by ClarkUSA
And why did PUMA Jane go on Faux News with Grover Norquist sitting smiling next to her and make a public plea for teabaggers to join her in killing HCR?

Also, why does she offer to help Republican clients via her media company?

No real progressive would have done any of these things. PUMA Jane is as fake as a three-dollar bill and she's counting on political amnesiacs to ignore her actions.

Obama supporters like me are on to the dumb motherfucker media whore.

97. Here you go....
Barak Obama 3-10-2009: “I am a New Democrat,” he {Obama} told the New Democrat Coalition, according to two sources at the White House session.

The group is comprised of centrist Democratic members of the House.

From Wikipedia:

The New Democrat Coalition was founded in 1997 by Representatives Cal Dooley (California), Jim Moran (Virginia) and Timothy J. Roemer (Indiana) as a congressional affiliate of the avowedly centrist Democratic Leadership Council, whose members, including former President Bill Clinton, call themselves "New Democrats." As of July 2009, the House New Democrats are chaired by Representative Joseph Crowley (New York), with Vice-Chairs Representatives Melissa Bean (Illinois), Ron Kind (Wisconsin), Allyson Schwartz (Pennsylvania) and Adam Smith ( Washington), who also serves as chair of the group's political action committee.

The Senate New Democrat Coalition was founded in the spring of 2000 by Senators Evan Bayh (Indiana), Bob Graham (Florida), Mary Landrieu (Louisiana), Joe Lieberman (Connecticut), and Blanche Lincoln (Arkansas).<2>

The NDC has worked to craft and pass legislation, including Permanent Normal Trade Relations (PNTR) for the People's Republic of China, fast track Trade Promotion Authority, digital signatures, and H-1B visa reform and continues to work on matters such as privacy, broadband, expanding e-learning opportunities and making government more accessible and efficient through the use of technology. Many in the Democratic Party's left-wing criticize the group, however, accusing it of ignoring social justice and the poor.

98. That's 100% unsubstantiated hearsay. FACT: Barack Obama was never a member of the DLC.
Edited on Sat Jul-16-11 07:12 PM by ClarkUSA
Furthermore, he rejected the New Democrats aka. the DLC:

“I am not currently, nor have I ever been, a member of the DLC,” said Obama, in a statement that substantially reflects a telephone conversation with Associate Editor Bruce Dixon, this weekend.

Ben Smith of Politico knows this fact:

"The DLC sought for a time to identify itself with Obama's message and his campaign, but found itself relatively unwelcome there and the final move cements its place as a central force in Clintonism and the Clinton historical record."

99. LOL...yeah...whatever. He decalred himself to be a New Democrat
which as you can see from Wikipedia is what DLC members identify themselves as. Even without that proof, his politics and appointments are that of a DLC New Dem as well. Are you anti-DLC? Curious why you would go to such great lengths to attempt to disprove the obvious.

Edited on Sat Jul-16-11 07:53 PM by ClarkUSA
Figures. :sarcasm:

This is a direct quote which proves Barack Obama rejected the New Democrats aka. the DLC:

“I am not currently, nor have I ever been, a member of the DLC,” said Obama, in a statement that substantially reflects a telephone conversation with Associate Editor Bruce Dixon, this weekend.

51. If you're worried about "attacks on Liberals",
You should have more of a problem with Hamsher's ugly tactic of pitting a segment of Dems against other Dems.

A true "Liberal" wouldn't feel the need to do that.

A Republican-enabling shill certainly would.

52. The Dems she is referring to are not "Democrats" in the traditional sense.
I believe she is talking about the Third-Way New Dems (aka DLC), and with that she is accurate. It's more of a pitting Dems against conservative Dems, and I see no issue with that.

57. There's no effort involved here. She puts it on the table.
If I had ever cast my lot behind her as a champion of Progressive causes, I'd not have much to say about her escalating shrillness. Hers are not the words of positive championing. She's down to flamethrowing.

56. That's odd, because PUMA Jane supported a Third Way New Dem (aka DLC Hillary) for President in 2008.
Edited on Thu Jul-14-11 07:07 PM by ClarkUSA
No, like most PUMAs, she just hates anything to do with Obama and his supporters are a prime target because we see right through her phony "progressive" act, in light of the fact she is helping Republicans via her media company and has allied herself with Grover Norquist and teabaggers to defeat Democratic legislation. That should tell you something about what her real divide-and-conquer strategy is.

63. Actually you are wrong. I can choose to define them any way I prefer. You don't have to agree.
Either way, I'm quite sure however that the majority of Democratic voters do not consider third-way conserva-Dems, you know - the ones more than willing to put Social Security and Medicare on the chopping block, to be "real" Democrats.

"She spews whatever brain jizz happens to be coagulating in her mind directly into the faces of her sycophants, and they lap that shit up like their only dream in life is to play the role of Hamsher PermaFluffer."

Perhaps you should back away from the porn for a moment or 2 before trying to determine one's classiness.
