DUers in open primary states, if you vote in the GOP primary to make trouble, don't complain. . . |
|
. . .about the Congressional, statewide and/or local candidates you are stuck with in your state.
1) I would rather the GOP nominate a legitimate candidate rather than some crazed loon (I know they are all are, but some less than others)
2) There are some significant stakes and every vote in a GOP primary is one less vote for your preferred candidates in other races.
3) Its not necessary, if we spent more time supporting Obama as opposed to fighting amongst ourselves he wins in a landslide.

2. I love voting for crazies in GOP primaries..... |

There is no sense in bothering when you've got Blue Dogs wanting mandatory school prayer, the teaching of intelligent design, and attacking reproductive choice. Some states aren't worth the effort.

Let the Repugs do the crossover voting for that very reason stated in #2.

5. I don't complain, and here in WI we have an open primary and a long history of crossover voting. |

Most of the time it doesn't make any difference whatsoever.
It's called "politics". Democrats like to ethically posture and play the game by some nice set of pretty rules. Republicans on the other hand don't play by rules that don't favor them and they prefer to kick ass and take names as opposed to ethics.
If Democrats are going to ever ultimately crush the Republicans (there was lots of dancing on the GOP grave after the 2008 elections) we need to start doing things the Chicago way. No more Mr. Nice Guys or Ms. Nice Gals.
