Our President gets it. I stand behind him 100% on his position to
get this done and his push to make the Republican political thugs get to work to make our country run again!

4. did you forget that you are in DU?
We are suppose to blindly hate Obama and everything he stands for and if he says something good (i.e., we need to strenghen SS) you are suppose to turn it agaist Obama (i.e., Obama wants to gut SS)....

5. That knee-jerk Obama Haters bla bla routine is so tired.

If the President does his job he should be congratulated for it.

If he does something questionable then he should be called on it.

his job (www.whatthefuckhasobamadonesofar.com) but many here expected complete and perfect change by January 20th, 2009 at 12pm and that Obama is a king and can simply igniore congress and can pass any law he wants at any time...

24. Ooh look, a false dichotomy! Gather 'round, kids!
:eyes:

Maybe--just maybe--the spectrum of responses to policy decisions by an elected public official is a little broader than "LOVE IT" and "HATE IT," don'cha think?

23. you mean you trust him
thats different than supporting his position, as you said. You said you supported his position, but then listed a bunch of emotional stuff about Obama. Im seeing a lot of that under Obama, a lot of people supporting him without seeming to care about what hes doing.

19. I see him wrangling and pushing for common sense in solving
our economic troubles. I see him not being a push over for his so called Colleges and I see his brilliant mind encompassing and simplifying a convoluted mess made by the Republicans. I like it and I feel he needs my support and I am giving it.

I'm not sure of details. I feel he is turning the ship and I will help him tug it in our direction. He has been true to most of his rhetoric and he has my confidence.

I also feel that with our help, after the ship starts back on course and we are working with him, he will start remodeling the interior with better social changes and perhaps the insanity of the Republicans will be put back in it's place.

Especially, if FOX News is stopped. One can only hope and work for positive change.

26. He is working to reach consensis in a country that has been saturated
with big business lobbies and entrenched corruption. It is a huge job that he is tackling. He is playing politics to help us. It is not as honest as we would like and it stinks sometimes. I have seen how he works and it is classically presidential. He does not micro manage and he respects those who are in the political game, yet he expects results that help us.

33. How many times will you let Obama screw you over before you say enough?
cuts to SS? cuts to medicare? is he going to have to kick down your door and throw you in jail personally? whatever. this guy lost my support when he screwed us on real health care reform. and gave tax cuts to billionaires. and continued very costly, pointless wars for profit, etc. ugh.

42. You mention three things, which are all debatable
He got the best health care reform passed that he could, with the votes that he could get. If congress were different, we might have has the votes for a public option, but what he did was what no other president in 40 years of trying had been able to do - the first solid foot forward to universal health care. While its not everything we could dream, its hardly screwing us.

The tax cut extensions were a trade off made on a hard deadline to get unemployment benefits extended. Ending those benefits would have been screwing us; letting the tax cuts ride for another day was a rotten but expedient compromise. Note that they are back on the bargaining table again as we speak.

He has done what he promised in Iraq, and wound it down to almost nothing. He has done what he promised in Afghanistan as well - with a ramping up, and now a drawing down. I don't disagree that its a pointless war, but its certainly not a "war for profit". At least we got Bin Laden.
