14. Or we end up in forever illegal wars.
We'll never know what would have happened if in December 2010 the President would have made good on his promise to raise taxes on the wealthiest in America - yeah, it would have raised taxes on everybody, but isn't that shared sacrifice?

We'll never know that if the President had stood his ground would he have been able to force an extension on unemployment benefits in January for the millions of unemployed? Would SS be better off today if the $112 Billion of IOU's with the tax "holiday" hadn't happened? Would the treasury have $559 Billion more in collected federal taxes and $67 Billion more in collected estate taxes?

We'll never know...

If we don't question the Gang of Six deal, we might as well roll over, we've done it before.

6. According to the update in the article...
Obama seems somewhat supportive of this gang of 6 plan.

Obama said it was a....

"very significant step" that is "broadly consistent with the approach that I've urged."

Why do I have a bad feeling about this plan? :(

13. Its a terrible plan
It drastically cuts corporate taxes and only save $80 billion on "defense" over ten years. It counts as savings repealing the CLASS ACT, which is an insurance program for nursing care. The CLASS ACT program would have taken in premiums for five years before making any payouts, so for the next two decades eliminating it would increase the deficit.

I'm shocked that Obama and Reid spoke in favor of the plan. It contains no real tax increases, but cuts entitlements.
