10. Not just DU - its a blog phenomena.
People group with other outliers to support their own need for confirmation bias.

And it's also the creator of the "But everyone I know voted for McGovern!" effect.

21. First of all, it's 'Democratic,' not 'Democrat'
Edited on Fri Jul-22-11 04:26 PM by UrbScotty
Second, Franklin Pierce, James Buchanan, James K. Polk, and Martin were all Democrats - What did they do that would make them better than Obama?

Third, Bill Clinton gave us NAFTA and DADT - and there was a lot of scandal surrounding his administration (and not just that which involved his Breitbart). Great guy, but not as liberal or successful as Obama.

Fourth, LBJ escalated a war, Obama ended one and has begun to end another.

Fifth, if more people were paying attention, he'd probably have more than 90% approval among liberal Democrats and 60%-plus approval among all Americans.

19. Question 43 of the poll you posted
Do you think the Democratic party should renominate Barack Obama as the party's candidate for president in 2012, or do you think the Democratic party should nominate a different candidate for president in 2012?

Democrats:

Democrat 81%
Liberal 84%
Moderate 76%

Edited on Sat Jul-23-11 02:29 AM by boppers
The polling number was about self-described a) Democrats who b) trend liberal.

That leaves out greens, anarchists, socialists, communists, pacifists (And lots of other "ists")... bunches of liberals who aren't democrats, though they may caucus with them.

edit: typo

39. So what?
I decide how I feel and how I vote, do you honestly think people should look at some poll results and say oh, I must join up with the herd?
And why care if there is a board that does not particularly like Obama? Unless the mandate for Group Think has taken effect - just go to a board that likes him..... this whole piling on whenever there is a discouraging word, whenever there are people who don't follow the party line - is starting to remind me of how the religious right wants to regulate me. Just no.

Also a sample size of 1009 adults with a margin of error of +/- 7% is pretty damn terrible.
