http://politicalwire.com/archives/2009/12/18/what_lieberman_has_done.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+PoliticalWire+%28Taegan+Goddard%27s+Political+Wire%29What Lieberman Has Done Ezra Klein: "Joe Lieberman's reckless decision to blow up last week's compromise has had exactly the impact many of us predicted. Much of the left has flipped into vicious, angry opposition to the bill. Is that because the Medicare buy-in, a good but limited policy, has disappeared from the bill? Ostensibly. But not really. If you don't believe the bill has cost controls, Medicare buy-in was not an answer to your concerns. If you believe the mandate is bad policy, letting people between 55 and 64 choose public insurance did not answer your concerns."
"Lieberman has tossed the process into chaos, and maybe that was the point... But his recklessness has endangered the bill, and through it, many, many lives. He may not be ashamed. But he should be."

2. I still have no idea who Ezra Klein is or why I hear so much about him on DU |
|
But this radical leftie still supports Obama, even if this bill will cost me more money for treatment.

this bill is passed as-is or worse, and Lie-berman is given the job of overseeing our health care program.

4. He's not ashamed -- he's the WH inside man on this |
|
IMHO:
LIE-berman's task from the beginning was to get Obama the bill the WH wanted -- and he succeeded. Big payoffs to Big Pharma and Big Insurance; a "fuck you" to the people who elected Obama (and who chose Ned Lamont over LIE-berman)

13. I said it was my opinion |
|
But read Glenn Greenwald in Salon -- he has a few points to make on this very issue.
I'm sick and tired of giving Obama the pass as the "poor victim" of the Senate. What bullshit.

11. I don't think they really truly wanted a Health Care Bill in the first place |
|
I think this shows they are too far into the pocket of corporations such a the Health Industry and Big Pharma. It is hard to tell how many more corporations are reaching into the senate. I thought the republicans were bad but they have nothing on this bunch of democrats.
