Why the fuck is the media concentrating on the Boehner plan and not Reid's plan |

1. Boehner's plan (whatever it turns out to be) is a waste of time. Obama |
|
said he'd veto it, and even some Republicans in the House said they wouldn't vote for it.
WTF are they doing?

Let them focus on Boehners plan; it will fail, and Reid's plan will be the last one standing. If that doesn't pass both houses, then a clean emergency bill will have to be the last resort.

3. its the plan up to bat.. even Reid he wants to wait and see what happens with boner plan, |
|
then he will decide what to do with his plan. The Senate could actually "accept" Boeners plan and revise it and send it back to the House.

5. Contessa Brewer was commenting on the inflexibility of 'both' sides |
|
and said that Moveon.org was demanding that any cuts to entitlement be offset by revenue measures then went on to explain how unwilling the parties are to give and reach a compromise.
When asking for an 'offset' is an intractable position, and compromise means giving in to whatever the Repigs are demands--that's the kind of 'compromise' the Media wants to see...keep in mind that these messages are brought to you by advertising dollars contributed by Big Auto, Big Banks, Big Insurance, Big Beer, Big Pharma, and Big Oil.

6. Because Boehner's plan will be voted on first? |
|
Edited on Wed Jul-27-11 05:11 PM by onenote
And, to be honest, I haven't heard a lot of praise for Boehner's plan in the media. Mostly what I've heard is speculation that he may not be able to get his own party to support it in sufficient numbers to pass it and that the CBO pissed on his numbers forcing him to delay a vote.

8. Neither plan can pass both Houses of Congress and that renders them virtually irrelevant. nt |

1) Boehner's plan is up first
2) The media loves a conflict, and there's conflict within the Republican members of the House over Boehner's plan.

12. More drama with the Boehner plan makes for better TV. |
|
Republican on Republican violence culminating in a presidential veto makes for a more dramatic story than a grudgingly accepted Reid plan.
