He was one of the original signers of the "Cut, Cap and Balance" pledge and during his the 2010 campaign to replace the retiring Stupak, he was endorsed by Sarah Palin and Ted Nugent.
However, when doing a google search to see what he's been up to, I found this on his Facebook and an interesting article:
"Food for thought: “To vote against John Boehner on the House floor this week in the biggest showdown of the current Congress is to choose to vote with Nancy Pelosi. “ The Speaker’s plan is not everything we need , but the other options are far worse. If given the chance to cut $2.7 trillion with Harry Reid leading the Senate and Barak Obama in the White House, count me in."
http://www.facebook.com/CongressmanDan?sk=wallHmmm. He might be willing to vote for the Reid plan.
"Another Michigan freshman congressman, Dan Benishek, R-Crystal Falls, also threw his support behind the Boehner bill. He was expected to vote no, but this morning seemed to be softening less than a day after Boehner reportedly told GOP conservatives to "get your a-- in line" behind his bill.
Benishek's change of heart stemmed from a desire to not vote in line with Democratic leader Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif.
"The speaker's plan is not everything we need," Benishek, who also has support from tea party followers, wrote to followers on his Facebook page, "but the other options are far worse." "

Edit: Just finished reading the comments to Dr. Benishek's wall message and he's getting grief. here's an example:
"How about showing a little leadership yourself, Congressman! Find those waivering Republicans and convince them to vote NO on the Boehner plan. Remember your pledge to CCB?"
