Right now discussing the debt ceiling crisis.

7. You may not change their minds, but your civic duty to make your voice heard |
|
should be satisfaction enough. However, that still doesn't explain why anyone would unrec a post merely relating the president's call to action. There's just no rational explanation for that on a site called "Democratic" Underground.

4. The same on Mineral Man's thread in GD. There are many here who want Obama to fail |
|
and a simple constructive speech or idea goes against their hate.
Sadly, the impact of trolls and haters is taking its toll.
That's what it's meant to do, along with this republican invented, teaparty ignited crisis that has Obama's poll numbers looking bad today.
He's at 40 supposedly, generic republican 41.

8. I don't so much worry about poll numbers right now. This crisis period will pass |
|
and let's not get bogged down in the media driven numbers game. That plays right into their hands. However, I heartily agree with the rest of your post. :hi:

6. OF COURSE he needs our help. He's got the most powerful forces in the world against him |
|
and they've been empowered through the Bush years.
They want the Presidency and more wealth.
What can he do without us?
Look at all the people the dividers have peeled off to hate him.
On DU they just justify their position but never realize where they fit into the scheme of the uber powerful right.

tell them that the disastrous GDP report shows we need to start INCREASING spending, not decreasing it.

My Congressman is great, and I have no doubt he will do the right thing.
But what is needed is a flood of calls to just sign a CLEAN BILL without the GOP/Democrat right-wing budget that is being pushed by Obama.
