1. My guess
the Senate will take up Reids bill and the asshole McConnell will filibuster it. The Senate will then make all kinds of changes to Boners bill, taking out the most egregious shit like the amendment idiocy and adding some stuff from Reids bill.

They'll send this back to Boner and it will pass, then back to the Senate where it will pass and everyone will declare themselves the winners while the rest of us (sane people) just look at them all in stunned silence.

2. McConnell is already filibustering it...
I think eventually it's going to be either a traditional one page raising of the debt ceiling or President Obama will have to use the 14th Amendment as commander-in-chief of the military, which is responsible for protecting the well-being of the country. If it comes down to the 14th Amendment, the House Republicans will impeach him. But not even the conservative judges on the Supreme Court will be willing to overturn it. They would then be responsible for making the country default on its debt. No one wants to go down in history with that around their neck.

4. No. Reid is a Senator.
First, Senator Reid will file for cloture for his bill in the SENATE - which means we need to find seven republican votes to go with our 51 Dem votes and the 2 Independent votes because to invoke cloture it takes 60 votes - if we can get the 60 votes for the cloture vote, then an up and down vote can be taken which would need only 50 votes to pass the bill.

Second, when/if the bill gets passed in the Senate then it will be sent over to the House for a vote.

Finally, when/if the bill gets passed by both the Senate and House then it is sent to The White House for President Obama to sign.
