My 2010 Predictions

We are on the cusp of a new decade. Here is what I see poltically in my 2010 crystal ball.

1) The economy will continue to slowly improve as banking continues to stabilize and business lending increases. There will be more consumer activity given all the savings over the last year.
This along with a new jobs stimulus that will pass will continue to reduce unemployment.

2) An imperfect, though needed, healthcare bill will pass. As people begin to see positive effects, naysaying will fall. It will ultimately be a smaller than wanted but positive step overall upon which to build further down the line. And it will be a great big shitburger for the RePUKES to feast upon.

3) Iraq will continue to wind down, and American units will return home about on schedule especially over the summer.

4) Afghanistan remains tough, but the ground situation slowly will improve.

5) New banking rules pass Congress.

6) An energy bill passes Congress.

7) As we move into the fall, with legislative successes and a somewhat improved economic picture, Obama's approvals remain above 50%, and while Dems will no doubt lose some Congressional seats given historical trends, the Re-PUKES will not do nearly well enough to re-take either chamber.
