A venereal disease
George Bush in college
Gas
A dying man
A voter in 2010 (or 2012)

What's so important about "passing", anyway? In the end, all you win is the fucking passage, and the real thing you were fighting for get's lost in this Pyrrhic victory.

To paraphrase King Pyrrhus: "If we are victorious in one more battle with the Insurance Companies, we shall be utterly ruined."

1. You forgot "kidney stone."
But you'd better have health insurance when it does!

5. Huh? Is that a "pass" reference -
Or a class warfare reference?

6. It's a pass reference. A matter of translation. I fixed it for you.

9. But listening to the health and wealth christians these days -
You'd think any wealthy person is especially "blessed of God" and should be followed without question.

10. That's because most of these "Christians" don't even read their Bibles
except for opening it on Sunday to drone along with whatever cherry picked scriptures their pastor throws at them. I doubt many of them even realize JC said that bit about the camel, the eye of the needle, and rich people. And the ones who bitch about their taxes clearly never heard the "render unto Caesar" part.

11. And how many times have you heard "the poor you will have with you always"
and seen the total bastardization of its meaning?

8. LOL! Yes.
*I* could have written a bill that would pass. Just give corporations everything they want. Piece of cake.

To synthesize a several thousand page bill that will spend $1 trillion over 10 years into such a simplistic post is ridiculous on it's face.

14. Good, I embrace the ridiculous, it is the only proper response to this bill.
Fuck mandates, I will not wear a leash and a collar.

15. I support it
Where I grew up, you cannot break people of the habit of going to the Emergency Room for care unless you make them get coverage. This bill does that and I support it. The current system is not sustainable and I'm tired of paying for other people to get care who refuse to get coverage and go for service when they are really sick. Not only does it cost many times more, it also is BAD for their health. Isn't the goal to improve the health of all Americans - and specifically the poor who cannot afford coverage?

18. No, but the mandates in this bill do not provide for a Single Payer system
mandates as a whole are not bad. It's what is mandated that is critical, and in this case, the thing being mandated is the underwriting of an insurance industry that profits from denying treatment to the sick.

19. thats where we are in somewhat of a disagreement
tho thanks for being polite in the return(since i know my first retort was a bit provocative)

personally from what I've read there are a fair amount of additions that puts a muzzle on the insurance companies as well as some declawing and such(to use animals terms). Admittedly I'm not American so possibly my view is somewhat tainted by what i know from the Norwegian system
