WORST HEADLINE: Obama bows to Boehner on jobs speech |
|
That's on Yahoo. It might as well have read that he went down on him, which would not technically be accurate.

2. The best way I can convey the frustration is this |
|
For those of us that follow politics closely, re-scheduling isn't a big deal. But the perception it creates with the average person is extremely impact-full and makes the President look weak.

the average is probably out of work and can barely put bread on his table for his wife and kids and does not give a shot about a scheduling conflict...he wants answers!

over a speech, which will probably be really early for the West Coast anyways if it is given 7 PM Eastern.

5. This is probably among the least of the concerns of the average person |
|
This kind of stuff is important only to a small group of people. Folks in the real world really couldn't care less.

6. The goal of speeches is to reach out to the average joes and janes |
|
that is why Presidential speeches are written in such a manner than middle school level/junior high education is satisfactory enough to understand such speeches.

7. I think most people are very interested in the speech itself |
|
They just aren't interested in all of the faux drama surrounding its scheduling.

9. So when SHOULD the speech take place? |
|
We know Wednesday is out because Congress won't agree to it.
Saturdays, Sundays, Mondays and Fridays also don't work because Congress is not in session.
So which Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday would be good timing?

it front of a joint session. How about "while the republicans are having one of their 20 debates, I'll be speaking about putting Americans back to work NOW". Find a friendly venue with a friendly audience and just do it. Feel free to check my posts, I've NEVER gone after the President for compromising - until now. He caved to the vile speaker and looks like a little boy who has been told to be seen and not heard. Sickening.

13. Folks in the real world.... |

would have preferred that President Obama would have called congress back and come home from vacation from Martha's Vineyards where few of us would ever go or frankly be accepted by the residents. The scheduling of this was purely political and someone in his staff should be fired.

14. Why fire someone on his staff? He's the one who picked them. |
|
He has consistently surrounded himself with people with whom most progressives/liberals are appalled.

''Boehner goes limp during Obama speech.''
