Chuck Todd just made an interesting point: Boehner did the President a favor by moving the date |
|
since, had the the speech taken place the same night as the Republican debate, it would have elevated the Republican candidates to his level and turned the President's speech into part of the Republican debate.
Very good point.

had the speech happened right before their "debate" it would have been a couple of hours of unbelievable (I mean that literally) and vitriolic bashing.

2. Sounds Like Making A Virtue Out Of Necessity |

When the impeachment of President Clinton failed in the Senate I bought a pizza, invited my friends over, and celebrated the fact that "we" rolled the Republicans.
It seems lately the Republicans are rolling us...

5. I thought they rolled us on the impeachment itself |
|
Clinton was the FIRST sitting president forced to testify in a civil trial. We've been in trouble for a long time. Ever since bush the meaner made a deal with Iran to hold the hostages until after the election. Of course democrats who primaried Carter didn't do a thing for us either. We've been hated by the pukes forever. They killed one of our Presidents, impeached another and call this one "boy" and worse. We as voters don't help much as we focus on whatever nasty thing the pukes want.

3. did Chuck Todd say that before the date was moved? |
|
did he say, "Obama's choosing this date is not a good idea, for such and such reason..."
If he had, I don't think it would have been as warmly received as it will be now. It would have been seen as an attack on Obama's decision and Chuck would have been called some bad names.

6. Then the President was dumb for picking that night in the first place. |
|
It was dumb because it makes him look weak ("bowed", "buckles") and clueless.

7. Todd is a Republican mouthpiece who masquerades as a nonpartisan hack. I trust nothing he says. |
