Anyone see any more confirmation of early stories that the White House had checked |
|
the date with everyone involved before making the formal request? I'd love to see written proof that Boehner was playing games.

1. I guess COS Bill Daley talked to Boehner at 9:30 am, told him what they wanted, Boehner didn't |
|
raise any concerns about the time. An hour and a half later, Pfeiffer tweeted it publicly. Boehner said nothing for hours longer, then sent the letter requesting the date change.
Seems like Daley thought he got an OK but didn't officially. Boehner did what Rush told him to.
Article on it - I don't know.

2. Here's what appears to have happened |
|
White House staffer X believed that White House staffer Y had checked with Boehner, who had concurred with the date.
Meanwhile, White House staffer Y believed that White House staffer X had checked with Boehner, who had concurred with the date.
When the shit hit the fan yesterday, they both told reporters that Boehner had been contacted and approved the date.
That's where the story now stands.
Me, I can't believe White House staffers X and Y both still have jobs.
