I know how to get the Republicans on board with Obama's jobs plan. |
|
Just name it the Ronald Reagan Jobs Act.
Half of them will vote for it without reading it.

Introduce his plan and then tell everybody he opposes it. It will certainly confuse most people but the Republicans will DEMAND that it become law!

6. The targeted jobs tax credits |
|
in Reagan's 1981 tax bill were worth emulating, however.
I see that it is speculated that the President will call for extending the 100% write-off of purchased business assets for another year (as opposed to only allowing depreciation deductions for a number of years). What if this were extended solely and only for items with 75% US-made content?
I wouldn't mind it a bit if Reagan's investment tax credit idea were extended with that caveat.

I'm not against everything that happened under his administration. After all, he had a Democratic congress.

8. Nah. Just announce the White House has decided it doesn't support it anymore. |
|
Republicans will fall all over themselves to pass it then.
