Do you really believe that campaign contributions affect his votes?

I don't.

Jane is just bitter.

1. The Kerry household is in fact able to meet expenses.
I think they've even given up on the coupon holder on the kitchen counter.

I agree with you absolutely on all points, especially the shocking and pointless bitter character assaults by Jane Hamsher.

Back in 7th grade we knew how to describe people who launch attacks out of pure meanness.

Your word, 'bitter,' is a lot better.

13. If Kerry is so wonderfully rich, then WHY does he take the money?
The bottom line is whether you are rich or not rich,if you take the money you are beholden to the health insurance companies' interests.

From both my calls to his office and my observations of him at the Senate Finance Committee meeting on health care - I think Kerry does bow to the fat cat health insurance companies. What has Senator Kerry brought forward on this issue that proves he does not?

14. If you want public financing of the electoral process I'm with you, but
the current laws permit corporations to donate to political campaigns.

Hamsher oversteps, as she usually does. She shrieks instead of contemplates, she smears rather than make meaningful associations.

Bernie Sanders cast the same vote as John Kerry; Hamsher would be hard-pressed IMO to accuse Sanders of being a corporate whore but nothing she has presented makes mention of that fact. She's a film-maker. A good one. Maybe she could assuage her misgivings about capitalism by making a successful film about its transgressions against human nobility.

Short of that she's a hair-trigger freakshow.

20. Remember, most of the money belongs to his wife and her children.
It's from the Heinz estate and I'm sure it's protected in trusts and various other legal forms to keep it in the Heinz family.

2. No. I don't think he sold out.
I think he wants to be a good soldier. He wants to be a good team player. He wants to support the President, and he doesn't want to face Rahm's ire. He wants to keep his nice office, and he'd like to keep his committee Chairmanships.

He's not going to be forced to purchase terrible insurance that he still can't use because he can't afford the co-pays.

Kill the bill.

Forcing people to buy insurance is no more the answer to a failed health care system than forcing people to buy houses is the solution to homelessness.

3. Rahm is the arbiter of Committee Chairmanships and office assignments?

I always thought that seniority had a say in things...

4. I suspect Rahm could convince Reid to punish Kerry.
And I will suspect that you're being very disingenuous if you say otherwise.

Kill the bill.

9. Actually, the Dems got rid of the seniority system in the mid-70's congressional reforms
If only Congress had killed the filibuster as well.

12. All of this insanity was always misplaced. Jane Hamsher has been this way since last year.

Now that she's attacked Kerry, perhaps more people have noticed her default Rovian attack mode.

18. I love John Kerry and was a delegate on his behalf in Boston.
But he could not beat Bush. And the election was not stolen.
Still he should become the new Liberal Lion in the Senate.
