1. Republican primary voters by and large believe that Social Security is a ponzi scheme. |
|
Which is, of course, factually incorrect and a lie to boot. But saying he can no longer win the primary because of saying that is just untrue. The Republicans are hypocrites, and while many of them live on Social Security, they continue to trash the program.

who is on Social Security not some 20 or 30 year old Perry's problem is he doesn't want to fix Social Security he wants to ABOLISH it at the Federal Level and give it to the states if they want it.Senior Citizens are not going to want to hear that bullshit

Bush in 2005 tried to privatize Social Security. But the House Republicans wouldn't put his proposal on the table because they knew it was suicide. Perry is doomed.

5. I don't think Ed has a very good political compass. He's wrong about |
|
Perry's SS Ponzi remarks. He forgets that the tea party only hates "entitlements" in a general sense, but when it comes to them personally. They love to talk shit about "entitlements," but as soon as you mention benefits that they are actually receiving -- such as SS and Medicare, it's a whole different story.
Ed forgets the "Keep the government out of my medicare" signs at the tea party rallies. Even the dim GOPers know that they have been paying into SS all these years and they want the benefits they are entitled to.
Lawrence is right about how the older GOP voters will react -- and the are the ones who vote.

7. I like Lawrence a lot ... |
|
and he is one of the sharper talking heads going.
But, he is wrong about this.
And, no, it will not even register one bit with most republicans about his position on SS relative to them.
EVERYTHING about the republican party attacks the best interests of 99% of the people in that party, and they love the GOP more than anything.
We want to believe they think like us, they don't.
Perry is mean and bold.
That is all that counts with them for the most part.

9. Perry is not going to recover from this. |
|
Saying the same thing as he said before tells me he is not flip flopping on this issue and this will do him in.

|
for the first reason stated - as awful as it is to hear that ass talk, Perry would be great to run against.
