2. How about the rest of the country? |
|
If the best we can cheer for is winning handily in California as a Democrat then we are in real trouble.

3. Because so many DUers seem to want Obama to lose, I believe this forum does not |
|
represent the views of the rest of the Democratic Party.
While many here may want this outcome:
Republican in the White House Republican-controlled U.S. House of Representatives Republican-controlled Senate Republican-controlled U.S. Supreme Court Republican-controlled governorships (29 of 50 are currently in Republican hands, more to expected to be elected) Republican-dominated state legislatures (3/4th of all state legislatures are in Republican hands) Republican judges at the lower appellate courts (Before Bush Jr. left office, he successfully stacked the lower appellate courts with extreme, far right judges)
Most of us want something different than that!

8. Except that 2012 is not going to be 2008--the excitement that Obama had then |
|
as a whole is not there. The hope he inspired has not transpired. Many people will vote for him simply to stop the other guy from winning. That will also cause turn out to plummet if you have a depressed base.

10. Not surprised. I have a bad feeling about his position in California. |
|
Which is one of the reasons I think he'll lose if he is renominated. California is no longer the liberal paradise it once was, and if Democrats cannot win in California, they cannot win anywhere.
I have a hard, hard time imagining him pulling out a victory there.

From what I've read, you're probably still reeling over the fact that he hasn't stepped down yet.
