Barry Manilow, Paulbot
Stuff like this makes you wonder how The Onion manages to stay ahead of reality. :eyes:

http://dailycaller.com/2011/09/15/barry-manilow-on-ron-paul-%E2%80%98i-agree-with-just-about-everything-he-says%E2%80%99/

Grammy award-winning musician Barry Manilow told The Daily Caller that he agrees with “just about everything” 2012 Republican presidential candidate Rep. Ron Paul says, calling him a “solid” contender for the highest office in the land.

“I like him. I like what he says, I do. I like what he says. I think he’s solid,” said Manilow, who confirmed to TheDC in an interview at the Capitol on Thursday that he contributed to Paul’s last campaign for president.

“I agree with just about everything he says. What can I tell you?” Manilow added.

Oh Barry, well you gave to Ron Paul without thinking, and I mock you today, oh Barry...

2. Politics are as dumb as his music
Apologies to any of his DU fans.

The better their music, the more likely a musician is to be a liberal is my observation!

He's allowed to support anyone he wants. Would you start a thread if he had said the same thing about Romney or Obama?

31. even though you post often, when you do, you always seem surprised that this is a liberal forum
that generally supports Democrats or even those farther to the left than them.

how many years will it take for the fact of this board to stop surprising you?

34. I just don't think it warrants a thread if a celebrity supports someone else
Think about it. Win or lose in 2012, a puke is going to get at least 45% of the vote. They won't get my vote, but do we need to list every one in a thread? If not, then why do we do it to celebs? Like any of us, they are free to support whoever they want.

and now this.

ow.

wonder if he'll changed his lyrics:

Oh Randy well,
You came and you gave without taking,
But I sent you away.
Oh, Randy well,
Kissed me and stopped me from shaking,
And I need you today.
Oh, Randy!

32. Okay, but Bruce Johnston (Beach Boys) wrote that song --not Barry
and the voice of the song isn't supposed to be the singer but music itself.

(though i know you're joking)

11. Arlo Guthrie was a Ron Paul supporter in 2008
I haven't heard if he is this time or not. It's my understanding he is a registered Republican, which seems so odd since his father was Woody Guthrie.

23. I am just glad that Frank Sinatra never had to see the teabag movement.
I would probably cry if Sinatra followed the path of Manilow, or worse, Andy Williams, who is a full-on teabagger:

30. I think he is joking.
If you look at Barry Manilows Wiki He appreciates hospitals very deeply. They have saved his life on quite a few occasions. So for him to call up on a Ron Paul show is funny in the way that I prepared for the Tea Party debate by listening to Evangelist Alice Cooper's Welcome to my nightmare and singing along with Devil's Food Cake
