1. yep....so has the entire FOX lineup. |
|
I'd like to see more fightback on this from WH spokespeople.
The RW rewriters made Ruby Ridge an anti-Clinton issue, though it occurred in 1991. Most people today believe RR happened under Clinton.

2. I am ok with the the White House taking its time to respond FOR NOW. . . |
|
. . .only because they only get one shot, I don't want them getting it wrong and having one of those "the crime is in the cover up" moments.

3. They'll try, obviously. |
|
But, they won't be able to. They will succeed in making it a nominal distraction, however.

4. Yup but what's the alleged crime? |

Edited on Fri Sep-16-11 02:54 PM by Proud Liberal Dem
Leaving aside for the moment that this was initiated under Bushco, as I understand it, the scandal is basically that the Obama Administration might have been so eager to get a stimulus-funded loan approved for a "green" company that later went belly up that they might not have made the best decision? Where's the beef? Are we supposed to treat like a big deal? Where was the GOP investigation into the BILLIONS of dollars that got poured into the sand in Iraq???? Oh right, there was none (but there were some about diploma mills as I understand). :eyes:
This isn't anything like Whitewater where a whole bunch of people were murdered by Bill & Hillary Clinton. :sarcasm:

8. Isn't This Capitalism At It's Best...... |
|
sometimes investments pay off (like saving the car industry) and sometimes they tank. Isn't that what happens in the stock market. You invest and sometimes the company does well and makes you a lot of money and sometimes the stock tanks and you lose. This to me was one of those investments that didn't work. You win some - you lose some.
I'm sure that the Repugs are happy that a Solar company tanked. More 'drill baby drill' and more money from their sugar daddy's.
They win both ways. Their oil buddies are happy and they can slam Obama for making a bad investment.

11. Looking "forward" hasn't worked out too well for President Obama. |
|
If he had gone full force after those who acted in criminal ways during the Bush administration, Republicans would be sooo done as a party, we would have had a steam roll of liberal, progressive congress members and we would be looking at recovery, end to wars, end of (un)Patriot Act, and getting our financial sector in line. People would have a chance. We could possibly see less people living in Poverty. We might have manufacturing returning because congress fixed trade agreements to reflect a fair trade; not free corporate enslavement on a multi-national global scale. Instead of $4.00 a gal of gas; speculation would be reigned in and we would be moving full steam into green energy... even if it meant helping buy back all the gas guzzling vehicles for fuel efficient vehicles and mass usable transportation.
Instead, we looked forward. Hand held the Republicans. Embraced their disastrous policies. AND now they control one branch of Govt and refuse to do anything but make govt work worse, block the President at any cost, and refuse to help American's lift the veil of Depression off our backs. NOPE, and now people have NO HOPE.

18. No, the Bush-appointee dominated Justice Department would have revolted |
|
and the Republican-dominated Supreme Court would have made sure that none of the charges stuck. Then, when it was over and Obama's approval was at, oh, around 30%, the Republicans would have drafted articles of impeachment out of revenge.
So no--investigating the Bush administration would have done absolutely nothing to finish the Republicans as a party.
