Nothing Obama can propose that can create jobs in any significant number will pass the GOP House.

Trying to work with them is a fools game, and tax cuts (the only thing they will go for) wont do shit for the problem.

The only way to get them to move in the right direction is to make it politically untenable to continue obstructing the kinds of programs that would have any chance of alleviating the unemployment.

To do that, you have to shame the shit out of them, make it obvious to even the densest joe and jane conservative voter that they arent acting in their best interests.

This week he will highlight a closed bridge between Ohio and Kentucky - the backyards of Boehner and McConnell.

He is talking to Joe and Jane voter, not just directly, but through local media coverage of his events. He was in VA and NC this past week doing the same.

Meanwhile, the chattering masses on cable news keep nipping at his heels and getting others to do the same.

20. Honestly, I don't think it really matters. I think the issue is a well crafted election ploy.

As President Obama proposes, the rethugs dispose. They know that going in. So if it's going to be that way, why not propose tax hikes that are popular with the voting public until the cows come home?

That way, President Obama can run on rethug opposition to everything he tells us is good, rather than simply "we suck less than they do".

It's kind of ingenious actually; fill the House with bills that everyone knows are dead on arrival while telling the voting public these bills are good, will end all problems, raise employment, and shrink the deficit whether they will or not.

Yes this bill will never pass if it even gets to the floor but still its nice to see Obama grow a pair (even though we know its fake) and at least bring up the idea so he can look like he is trying to fight for us instead of caving at any sign of red coats like he always does.
