Advisors who carry out their advice not as it is accepted but as it is given |

Summers and Geithner are of this stripe. Is it tragic that Obama was bowled over and pushed around by these men, or is it damning that they were chosen, hired and allowed to prosper in the administration by Obama? If the actions of these men and Obama's promotion of and reliance on them can be seen in a favorable light, I'd be curious to know what that is, exactly.

1. Somehow Obama does not strike me as a pushover |
|
Summers and Geithner are not in charge. That would be Obama.

2. Another possibility is that Obama seeks a scapegoat for pro-bank policies |
|
And that Geithner doesn't mind being portrayed that way.

3. I agree, no pushover. Seems that Summers, at least, may have deceived, |
|
'promising' he'd do things asked. HOPE these 2 gave good advice, wouldn't bet on it.
May have been to chicken/missing balls to say, 'Sir, I really need more troops to accomplish the task you've asked.'
