1. "The bigger the lie, the more likely people will believe it."
Well, that's classic Rove.
But I'm assuming this is satire, right? It sure captures Rove in a nutshell.

Worth the read....

2. Actually, I do not think that
the purpose of the diary author was to "capture Rove", but quite different.

"Libs are lazy and spoiled, not savvy and proactive like us. They think that by whining on a liberal web site they're engaging in some sort of 'activism.' They're 'holding Obama's feet to the fire.' They actually believe that DC policymakers or their staffers somehow have the time to read every ridiculous liberal blog. They don't get it that the only ones reading their whiny little rants are--wait for it--other liberals."

16. I'm maddest at the ones described in the parody.
They do exist, and some exist right here at DU, just as at DKos. The author of the piece nailed them perfectly (and acknowledged in an add-on to the post that it was intended to "hold up a mirror" to those it described).

17. "who cares if it's true"
that's the attitude I'm seeing.

Put out a total lie and then say it's holding up a mirror. Bullshit, it's a lie. "Who cares if it's true. I'm mad at these people for our political disagreement so I can post lies about them."

And then the people that believe the stupidest shit, obviously not thinking about it and probably not even reading it. "Who cares if it's true. I'm mad at those people so anything I read, even if it's a joke, even if it's made to sound ridiculous, I'm going to believe it's true. Whether it is or not, I don't give a shit, all that matters to me is that they're mean to a politician I like."

31. I guarantee this type of bullshit will come back and bite them in the ass.
It's just setting up a false argument to back their claims, and then posting here so that they can rec away and say "see, I knew that's what was happening' as if it's some sort of magic bullet for them. Total fabrication and utterly delusional. The trolls on DU are not the ones critical of Obama's conservative tendencies. The trolls hide in DU's GD: P.

23. a fabrication is a different level
I don't want people to be saints, I know people are not 100% "fair and balanced" every time they express an opinion, that would actually be a little boring on a message board.

But to post a fabricated story and watch people believe it, without clarifying it's satire and without asking for it to be pulled when people are believing it, I can't understand that. In fact when this was posted before, the thread was locked, I don't know why this one is still up.

24. Happens all the time.....
With all the misinformation, cherry picking, and half truths.

A fabrication is a fabrication. Taking part of a "truth" and spinning it without including the whole truth, is nothing more than a lie. It's purposely dishonest and there is a certain amount of intent involved.

See: Faux "News."
They've perfected the practice to an art form.

fab·ri·cate (fbr-kt)
tr.v. fab·ri·cat·ed, fab·ri·cat·ing, fab·ri·cates
1. To make; create.
2. To construct by combining or assembling diverse, typically standardized parts: fabricate small boats.
3. To concoct in order to deceive: fabricated an excuse.
