NRA Claims 'Massive Obama Conspiracy' Not to Ban Guns
Edited on Fri Sep-23-11 07:34 PM by SpartanDem
You just can't please some people.

In the eyes of National Rifle Association (NRA) executive vice president Wayne LaPierre, President Barack Obama's decision not to pursue gun control legislation is a "massive conspiracy," and just another reason not to give him a second term.

" will say gun owners -- they'll say they left them alone," LaPierre told an audience at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) Friday. "In public, he'll remind us that he's put off calls from his party to renew the Clinton ban, he hasn't pushed for new gun control laws... The president will offer the Second Amendment lip service and hit the campaign trail saying he's actually been good for the Second Amendment."

"But it's a big fat stinking lie!" the NRA leader exclaimed. "It's all part of a massive Obama conspiracy to deceive voters and destroy the Second Amendment in our country."

"Obama himself is no fool. So when he got elected, they concocted a scheme to stay away from the gun issue, lull gun owners to sleep and play us for fools in 2012. Well, gun owners are not fools and we are not fooled," La Pierre declared.

6. That's how I'll always view this era. It was the time when right-wingers
didn't censor anything that popped into their heads. Truly embracing freedom, and bat-shit craziness.

7. LaPierre is the reason I quit the NRA.
He represents the worst of paranoid, reactionary, conspiracy-obsessed Southern political 'thought', and is turning the NRA from a gun lobbying group into an advocacy group for Southern rednecks and their Copperhead sympathizers.

9. Truly, he has a dizzying intellect
Now, a clever man would put the poison into his own goblet, because he would know that only a great fool would reach for what he was given. I am not a great fool, so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of you. But you must have known I was not a great fool, you would have counted on it, so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of me.

10. Because of the Economy, I Guess Donations to the NRA Must Be Way Down
Esp. since Obama has not really done anything on guns at all. So, Wayne must concoct some kind of crazy scenario in order to scare up donations.

13. I emailed them after they gave John Kerry a hard time in 2004 and had a back and forth with one of
their leadership folks. I think it was LaPierre. I asked him point blank, "Will you ever really give a Democratic Presidential candidate a fair shake." and he assured me that they would if they were not against the second amendment. Now we know that was a lie.

18. Well, one of his Supreme Court appointees was against the McDonald vs. Chicago decision
The other wasn't on the bench yet, but I'd be stunned if she wasn't against it. He supports gun-control, but Congress never gave him a bill to sign, thankfully.

22. Talk about certifiable!
Obama hasn't actually ever talked about any new gun control but thousands of people flooded stores and bought up as many guns and as much ammo as possible as soon as he got elected and now that he.....um....still hasn't done anything, the NRA nuts (just talking about the real nutcases here, NOT the average responsible gun owner who happens to be an NRA member) now think that the fact that Obama hasn't done anything has been all part of his *plan* not only to make them look crazy but to "lull" them into a false sense of security until he wins re-election and then can gun grab with impunity?! :silly:

23. This is why I find the NRA to be a JOKE.
A bad joke.

I say that as a gun owner. Let's see, I own only four guns now. I used to own six. I guess I wouldn't be considered a gun nut. Do I fear that my government might come and get my guns? No, I do not. Does the NRA get credit for keeping my second amendment rights intact. No they do not.

that they bought all those guns and ammo for nothing! :banghead: I wonder if some of them are fervently pining for another Waco and/or Ruby Ridge so that they have an excuse to rail against the "jack-booted thug" tactics of the ATF or even to attack federal agents? :eyes:

LaPierre is an idiot if he thinks that gun owners are going to believe anything his stupid NRA PAC says about Obama or about Democrats.
His 15 minutes of fame were over a long time ago.
