Our FRiends "weigh in" on Chris Christie reconsidering a Presidential run...
Christie made some great YouTube videos near the start of his term, in which he lambasted the Teacher’s Union. They were fun to watch. But what has he actually DONE? He is no better than Christie Whitman with a sex change operation.

I just saw Christie on a local news report 2 days ago. He looks like he has put added more weight on his already morbidly obese body. This tell me he doesn't want to run. A Republican who looks like he's one crisis away from a massive heart attack will never win the presidency. Christie knows that the press will see to that.

Apparently they think that Perry's collapse means it's time for you-know-who to get in...

that Christie will have. The general idea is that he is a "sane" Republican, but loved by the tea party and not a Mormon.

As to why waiting for 2016 might not be that good for him is that like Romney, who was up for re-election in 2006, he could easily lose re-election, which would harm his ability to claim electability even in very blue states. Romney opted not to run for re-election and pretty much immediately started to run for President. Romney had the advantage of fewer years before the next election and far greater personal wealth.

One sign that Christie is trying to expand his national profile is he has been really involved in Republican fund raising. Here's a local NJ article - http://www.dailyrecord.com/article/20110923/NJNEWS/309230053/Christie-will-visit-3-states-raise-funds-his-party

6. Christie's finished in New Jersey
If he want's to stay in politics at all, it'll have to be at the national level.
