Not Sure If This Has Been Posted, But If Not Please Sign Up For This
Some here really think Dylan Ratigan is horrible, but I don't. I've watched him for a very long time now and he and some of his friends have decided to produce an amendment to GET MONEY OUT of Congress.

So, he's asking for all to sign a petition and support this effort. Go to http://www.getmoneyout.com and sign up. It's a start and just might be th start of something REAL. I don't know, but I've already seen names of people from here at DU, or names of people who have been here before.

Thank you... I DO feel this is "something" a little different, so let's give it a try!

1. Looks like they are trying for a Constitutional amendment
that would effectively overturn the Citizens United decision. I'm not sure what good the petition would do, since Constitutional amendments have to be initiated by Congress - typically online petitions don't do much. I guess it wouldn't hurt to sign it, though.

2. Anything Is Better than NOTHING! I Know Getting An Amendment Passed
probably won't happen, but simply shining a huge light on this can't hurt, IMO. We've been UNABLE to do anything yet, and I've been told far too many times that going to the streets won't work.

If NOTHING gets done, we may as well just crawl in a hole. This country is in deep trouble and it's just so frustrating sitting on the sidelines trying to figure out what the hell to do.

At least there are people with a voice trying to make "some" difference. It may not have to be set in stone. Just baby steps, who knows?

5. knr - done and thanks for posting ...
"Bailouts. War. Unemployment. Our government is bought, and we’re angry. Now, we’re turning our anger into positive action. By signing this petition, you are joining our campaign to get money out of politics. Our politicians won’t do this. But we will. We will become an unrelenting, organized wave advocating a Constitutional amendment to get money out of politics.

As the petition grows, we can use my show on MSNBC as a platform to force this issue to the center of the 2012 elections. Join us. Sign up. Tell your friends. Facebook it. Tweet it. #GetMoneyOut.

From our Washington Insider, Jimmy Williams, here is our Constitutional Amendment:
"No person, corporation or business entity of any type, domestic or foreign, shall be allowed to contribute money, directly or indirectly, to any candidate for Federal office or to contribute money on behalf of or opposed to any type of campaign for Federal office. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, campaign contributions to candidates for Federal office shall not constitute speech of any kind as guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution or any amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Congress shall set forth a federal holiday for the purposes of voting for candidates for Federal office."

6. Signed. Although it should also enshrine public financing.
