Need Bookkeeper for Real Estate Investment Company (Orlando FL)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: 2011-10-08, 7:28AM EDT Reply to: job-9qr2f-2638724044@craigslist.org --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello,
We're a real estate investment company. We buy houses, fix them and sell them. We need a bookkeeper that will keep track of our expenses, give us reports and be able to understand the items below;
- hard money loans - profit sharing with investors - sliding scale equity shares due to expenses and cash injections changing in properties - transactions with cash from multiple investors + hard money loans - can read and understand closing HUDs - knowledge of quickbooks or other financial software reports
*** Necessary Qualifications + Info *** - you must have your own Quickbooks software - this is a PART TIME job, weekly updates are required - email communication throughout the week is possible - estimated time to update our book keeping is maybe 30 minutes a WEEK. - we only buy maybe 10-20 properties per year so you won't be overwhelmed. - we are NOT looking for someone to work @ our office. Remote is fine. - resume encouraged - must have a facebook account; link provided to profile preferred - pay is $60 per month
Please email me @ the anonymized address. Thank you and looking forward to hear from you.

10. but don't you think this is being offered as a part time job? |
|
I really see the issue as boiling down to full time work with benefits, vs part time work without. The employment situations that can occur in a wildly fluctuating economy are these- part time decent per hour pay- but one needs a lot of them to make ends meet. And there is nothing to cover health benefits.
So, universal healthcare is about the only way to resolve this. And a means for the part-time workers to get unemployment benefits, when even these types of jobs evaporate.

14. I think it is- not a good one- but probably the way |
|
small businesses will try to scrape by. I see the issue as the cost of healthcare being saddled onto business owners rather than simply a civilized society issue.
No big company is going to risk having it's financial info in the hands of a part timer. This sounds like an ad from a small business trying to figure out how to survive.

6. $30/hr isn't bad pay for a Quickbooks jockey - BUT |
|
You have to have eighty of these jobs to have a full workweek. And you have to be able to juggle eighty of them with no overhead. And you have to have the most expensive version of Quickbooks (assuming all eighty customers have Quickbooks, otherwise you need the enterprise version of some other accounting software, too).
This is a job for someone who already has a job with enough slack time that they can slip a half-hour a week of extraneous activity in. I can imagine the person getting the job using, illegally, their employer's copy of Quickbooks.
"must have a facebook account" is even more bizarre.

11. How do these idiots not have 30 minutes per week to just do it themselves? |
|
The hassle of hiring and checking on someone else's work is not worth it. This is fishy.
