Just back from an Occupy Wall Street gathering in the suburbs of Philly and saw a number of OCCUPY THE VOTING BOOTH signs.
Though the movement is non-partisan, I really hope it will help to get out the vote - especially in light of voter suppression efforts. I added the design at Cafepress, if only for the people in my area who were there tonight.
What do you think - will this movement help get out the vote, or will its impact have little to do with voting? imo it's hard to tell at this point.

I'm familiar with cafepress so volunteered to do that part.
Hope people get out to vote like they did in 2008!

corporations own both the voting machines, and the software that runs them. They can make the outcome anything they want.

3. That really is scary - if we don't get the money out of it and get verifiable voting into it... |

to step up make it happen. I'm not talking about bitching online about our problems. We need to seize the moment. Organize locally and link up nationally. Were doing it in our little town of 1200 persons. Our occupy event is Oct. 15 Use tactics that bring others into agreement with you, this makes them participants and shows the support we share with each other. An example would be a sign that reads, HONK IF YOU SUPPORT ?, or, HONK FOR NO CUTS TO SOCIAL SECURITY. Lets get off our collective asses and do this now. This is the time we have been waiting for. We might not get another.

7. If it doesn't translate to real electoral action, it is a virtual waste of time. |

10. It would also be valuable if it led to a Constitutional amendment... |

...to get money out of politics (Dylan Ratigan and others are working on that) or if it led to uniform and verifiable voting machines.
