2. I Watched His Debate Against Ted Kennedy In 94

There was a scare when a poll showed a dead heat but Kennedy eventually beat him 58%-42% which was the lowest showing for Ted in any Massachussetts campaign.

During their debate Kennedy said to him regarding his flip flopping on abortion "you're not pro choice, you're not aniti choice, your multiple choice."

He also said when it comes to gay marriage "I am more liberal than Ted Kennedy."

That would be a PERFECT DNC ad if Mitt ends up being the nominee (as seems likely). "Multiple Choice Mitt" Or better yet, Obama could use it during the debates. I would imagine that Ted would be smiling from heaven if he did.

I suspect at his core he's a moderate, pragmatic Republican but he know moderate, pragmatic Republicans are drummed out of the party. Look at Jon Hunstsman, Jr.

I don't think that George HW Bush was anywhere near as bad as his son and even Reagan seems moderate compared to today's GOP but, yeah, our country could do without Republicans running the country (and occupying the WH) for, well, a millenia.

8. I Think Papa Bush Was Much Like Romney

He voted for the Fair Housing Act as a Houston congressman and was pro choice until he became Reagan's vice president. He became much more conservative as the party became more conservative.

Reagan was always onservative. Well he was conservative after he married Nancy. Of course he was a Democrat before that. It's only in the passing of time that he doesn't seem (as) conservative. Maybe that's because the pendelum has shifted so far to the right.
