OK Cain is FINISHED
http://thinkprogress.org/security/2011/10/18/347276/cain-if-al-qaeda-demanded-it-id-consider-freeing-every-gitmo-prisoner-for-the-release-of-an-american-soldier

Christmas came early for Mitt Romney, imagine the attack ads this would make. A real shame this didn't happen AFTER Cain won the GOP nomination, because it'd make the greatest attack ad ever for Obama.

10. Unfortunately there is a meme in our society and it is this:
Republicans get a free pass on National Security. No - I'm sorry - I don't think it will necessarily sink Cain.

Remember Bush was essentially asleep at the wheel leading up to 9-11 and nobody (in the mainstream) even bothered to notice. Had it been a democrat the party would not have another president in the office for 50 years.

13. 100% correct ...
Had Al Gore been president on 9-1-01, you are absolutely correct that the party would seriously be dead.

Meanwhile, with the moron who completely ignored the DEMOCRATIC president's warning that something like that could happen, it somehow was the fault of the ... democratic president ...

Chris Mathews about 5 years ago, had two congressmen running against one another on his show. The R was putrid on foreign affairs, and the D was sharp. Mathews interupted the D who was just wiping the floor with the R on the issue and bluntly said something to the effect of "congressman, republicans get rights on foreign policy, just the way it is."

very close to his words ...

11. This does not hurt Cain at all...
If Cain were a Democrat is would be the end of his political career but since he is a Republican he will not be held accountable. Republicans are still viewed as the defenders of freedom by a majority of Americans despite what Obama has done. The thing is Republicans constantly repeat how tough they are so this sinks into the pyschi even though the facts tell a much different story!
