GOP senators angry about Reid claim they're rooting for failure

:nopity: Then stop rooting for failure. Duh.

GOP senators angry about Reid claim they're rooting for failure
By Alexander Bolton - 10/19/11 05:30 AM ET

Reid said Republican opposition to President Obama’s $447 billion jobs bill is based purely on politics, and has cited their votes against the measure as evidence they want to slow the national recovery.

“Republicans oppose those ideas now because they have a proven track record of creating jobs, and Republicans think if the economy improves it might help President Obama,” Reid said last week on the Senate floor.

“So they root for the economy to fail, and oppose every effort to improve it. And they resist anything the president proposes, no matter how common-sense, including this plan to create 2 million jobs
,” he said.

A Senate Democratic aide made no attempt to walk back Reid’s comments.

A growing number of Democrats, especially junior members of the caucus, are growing impatient with the chamber’s atmosphere of genteel deadlock.

Their rising irritation has emboldened them to join Reid in pointedly questioning the GOP’s intentions, something that would have been unthinkable in the recent past.

1. "...has emboldened them to join Reid in pointedly questioning the GOP’s intentions..."
FINALLY?

Even better: "...something that would have been unthinkable in the recent past." WHY?

2. Because some of the more senior members on both sides of the aisles have their fingers in the cookie
dough jar -- emphasis on Dough

For some reason Ben Nelson comes to mind
I see Clyburn who is on the slash and burn committee has received 750,000K from the health industry since being named

4. The GOP has lost all hope
The GOP has shown that they are supporting big business and the wealthy.

The GOP says they are trying to make Obama fail.

The people are pissed.

The middle class has no disposable income left and can't help the recovery.

It's the fault of the GOP!

The only reason I can see for the middle class to vote for the GOP
is the abortion issue. If they vote to hold down taxes on the rich
they have to be really stupid and still believe in trickle-down.

Yesterday, they got Romney on film saying that in order to get the economy back on track
we need to let the foreclosure process run its course. Let the banks foreclose and let them
sell to investors and let the people rent the homes. Someone made a comment that it was
like Potterville on "It's A Beautiful Life". Ed Rendell said instead, we need to renegotiate the loans and see if we can keep the people in their houses.

This, to me, says that the GOP front-runner has just nailed the cover on his political coffin!!!!

It is so obvious that the GOP is trying to continue to redistribute wealth to the rich.
The GOP is bought.
The Supreme Court is bought!
A bunch of the Dems are bought!

We need to clean house and restructure.

God save Bernie Sanders!!!

5. Then why is Tea Party Nation emailing "Stop hiring' to protest Obama

Sounds to me like they are making it fail, not just hoping it does.

6. Did Reid strike a nerve?
Maybe they should be doing their jobs! :eyes:

:nopity:

If they're mad, that means that President Obama, Senator Reid, et. al are doing something right IMHO.

8. TIME to get out McConnell's declaration:
Edited on Wed Oct-19-11 10:27 AM by elleng
'My goal is to see to it that Obama is a 1-term President,' and play it often and LOUD!

Would like to send it to my Senator Cardin, to encourage him; he's sounding too 'understanding,' in this piece, tho I do understand his thought 'that others have expressed interest in supporting bipartisan jobs legislation.'

This sound bite will be played so many times next year that McConnell will rue the day....

13. I'm glad that the obvious now gets said out loud....
It's the thing to do, of course.

But I'm still in recovery from the damage done to my psyche by the Democrats' excruciatingly, torturously slow response to GOP treason.

I'll recover from the near-death experience brought on by the Democrats' quack cure (bi-partisanship) of the past 2 years - but it will take a little more time.:hangover:

18. A classic quote from Adlai Stevenson.

I have been thinking that I would make a proposition to my Republican friends... that if they will stop telling lies about the Democrats, we will stop telling the truth about them.

Campaign statement in Fresno, California (10 September 1952); earlier incidence of similar comments exist:
