With there stupid pundits all talking the same line (Perry came out the winner and a fighter) I though he looked like a total ass and unprofessional.Maybe I was watching the wrong debate

2. Do you remember how low the bar was set for Bush?
Edited on Wed Oct-19-11 11:21 AM by Avalux
It's a very effective tactic. Perry is introduced nationally as a buffoon, he's about as bad as can be. But then all of a sudden he wakes up, improves some, and everyone gets excited.

That's what I see happening here. He's got way too much money behind him for this whole thing to not be orchestrated.

4. Mitt is such a flip flopper.. Its so easy to find all the things he
has said and then flipped on, even in this campaign. He sounds out of touch. He's a rich guy who thinks like a rich guy and is very out of touch with his base. He cannot get the support that is needed. Shoot the black guy is leading the poles, and we all know Herman Cain and Michelle Bachman are on the stage to look like the party is not just about old, rich white guys. The Tea Baggers did not do well with their racist signs and such. Who knows? We will have to wait for the primaries to see what ass hat they put up on the national stage.

I believe the Republican party is in its death throws. There are many, many independents in the country because they don't trust either party. The Democratic Party used to represent the working man. They sold themselves out with the Wall St crowd, and trendily try to make things appear a bit better. In these economic times, a little bit better just doesn't work. I can definitely see a rise in a completely new party. The Democratic Party is more like the old Republican party of times before. There is a definite need for a party that represents the poor and the working class of Americans. A party that rejects the notion that a citizen = consumer. A party that recognizes people's inherit value as a human being, and not what they do for a living or what zip code they lay their head in at night (if they even have a home anymore). A party that recognizes that education is far more powerful as an asset than its military might. A party that recognizes that health care is an inherit right; not something that is considered only by the place you work and the size of your bank account. A party that recognizes our one of the biggest issues to preserve our world and our future is valuing and protecting our environment. There is such a need and demand for such a party. As it is now, the 2 major parties that represent the United States are not representing the people in the manner that they should. Even the Supreme Court is bought and corrupt; leaving us a law that states corporations are people and they may inject as much money as they wish into the political process. There is nothing that has been done to counter this horrible ruling. The politicians are bought puppets as well.

Maybe it would be easier to take back the Democratic Party. For the liberals and progressives to move into power positions within the party to create a new path forward. These are crazy times, and they demand for bold initiatives. Capitalism has destroyed our democracy for far too long. It is time to move forward with a different idea or plan or even way of thinking. A paradigm shift that values each human being as rich for being alive. AND that also values nature as a valuable gift and tool to be utilized in a respectful manner. To take as little as possible and give back as we can. We have been programmed from birth to accept society and the world as it is now and few have questioned the rationality of the manner we live. Things are bad enough that people are finally standing cup and questioning the system and wanting to think outside of the box to make living worth while when we are alive on this planet.

5. Good
The longer this goes on, the better for Democrats. I hope they take it to the convention. As far as the networks - they just want a horserace.

7. More than Romney? Romney is so plastic that it is disgusting.
He had a moment of candor in the debate when he said "I was running for office. I could not have illegal immigrants at my house", but this shows clearly he has no core values (similarly to all other MA Republicans).

Of course, Perry is really bad, but I am not sure why you think he is worse than the other ones (Cain, Santorum, Gingritch, Bachman, and of course Mitt Romney).

9. Perry does not stand up well in head to head match ups with President Obama
And, Perry would get the Democratic base out to vote. On the other hand, Romney and Obama are very close in polling.

14. He's lost when anything is off script.
Perry's even more dim than Bush. Bush could at least come up with a wise crack - regardless of how inappropriate.

13. After they put the knives to him when he was in the lead
in the polls ...

Then, they were kind to Cain, now they are pushing Perry to try to surpress Cain.

It is all cover for ...

Romney - the CLEAR marching orders are Romney is the best threat to BO, so they will continue to treat any republican front runner other than Romney like they do democrats - tear them down.
