Could 2012 be the year for a Dem break through in Texas?
Assuming Romney is the nominee, he will not be able to count on a whole lot of help from Perry - the two hate each other and they are both burning bridges. Even if they eventually "make nice" their supporters will carry on the feud and Perry's support will be mostly lip service. On top of that Republicans are doing everything they can to drive the Hispanic vote into the Democratic column. Even Republican Hispanics are taking notice.

1. Not a chance. The 2010 debacle, redistricting, "voter ID" legislation & overly funded R Party.
And add a lack-luster candidate at the top the Democratic ticket.

3. Agreed. Pukes have made it virtually impossible for a Dem to win here.

That said, the choice of Dem candidates has been poor. I really believe dumbass Kooky Friedman got in the race to help Perry...that's exactly what he did, and we had a weak Dem opponent.

2. There is no path to the White House for the Rethugs if they lose Texas.
Even a purple or slightly red Texas forces them to spend time and money there instead of in other states like FL, OH, VA, AZ or even GA. The Rethugs know this hence all of the voter law changes recently. The country as a whole is becoming bluer while they are becoming redder.
